Walking to Hadleigh Castle - you have to go down a lane, through an old wooden gate and along a little muddy path, past all the farmer's fields, to get there. I always think the view here, across the downs, is just as beautiful as when you get to the castle itself.
Thank you to everyone who gave me help and advice yesterday, about whether to lighten and colour my work digitally, after painting - just to show online - because I was oversaturating and over texturising. I decided not to do anything with this one - so it is as naked as the day it was born. I may change my mind and enhance it later, because now I think it looks a bit dull and dark. And around in circles I go.

From Essex, about a 7 mile hike to the castle (one way) takes you to the ruins overlooking the point where the Thames and the Channel become one. Your depiction of this one spot along the walk is wonderful, Issie. Liked & Faved.
